Xuanqian (Shawn) Xie, MSc

Xuanqian (Shawn) Xie is a Senior Health Economist at Health Quality Ontario (HQO), Toronto, Canada. His research interests include research methodology (e.g., the economic evaluation of diagnostic tests in the absence of a gold standard, non-inferiority trial frameworks for clinical decision-making and calibration), applied economic evaluations, meta-analysis, and health technology assessment (HTA). Prior to joining HQO, he worked as a Biostatistician at the Technology Assessment Unit (TAU) of McGill University Health Center in Montreal, and as a Health Economist at University of Toronto's Toronto Health Economics and Technology Assessment (THETA) Collaborative.
He completed his undergraduate study in Medicinal Chemistry at Beijing Medical University, China, and obtained a MSc degree in Public Health from the University of Southern Denmark, focusing on health economic evaluation.
